(All samples are in the MP3 format, and you will need a MP3 player to be able to listen. If you have no previous experience of playing MP3 files, follow this link.)

Please note the dynamics of the Sound Samples are not in proportion between different movements. Each sample has been individually processed (boosted) to sound as well as possible even on a tiny computer gear. Therefore, they will all have the same "volume", no matter if they live or on a CD are played very soft or very powerful.
For the moment, no files are "streaming MP3", which means the files are first downloaded before you can listen to them.
The Samples are available in three different MP3 format qualities:

MONO:
Not recommended. This quality is quite poor, and you should only use it if you have an extremely slow modem or if you are in a big hurry not to miss a Progetto Avanti concert or something of equal dramatic importance.
(MP3 Specifications: 16 bits, Low Quality, Mono, 32 kbps – file sizes 80–200 KB.)

STEREO:
Recommended. This quality is really good—use it if you have a 56 kbits modem or faster. Or if you have patience enough to wait a few seconds longer should you have a slower connection. It's worthwhile—the sound is much better, and there is really a point in listening to a duo in stereo…
(MP3 Specifications: 16 bits, High Quality, Stereo, 56 kbps – file sizes 140–370 KB.)

HIGH SPEED:
Recommended only for Audiophiles and people with broadband connection. The files are three times the size of the Stereo Samples, and although the sound is better it's not three times better…! It's definitely not worth waiting for if you don't have a high speed connection or are a hi-fi nerd.
(MP3 Specifications: 16 bits, High Quality, Stereo, 160 kbps – file sizes 0.4–1 MB.)

MP3 Players:

When clicking on a Sound Sample link your browser will start its MP3 player. It might be QuickTime or Windows Media Player or something else depending on how your computer is configured. It doesn't matter, really, but if you instead get an error message or a message saying something about "downloading" or "saving" the file, you might not have a MP3 Player on your system. If so, you can i.e. go to www.tucows.com and write "mp3 player" in their search field. You will get a list of many different shareware and freeware players to download.
